The ZOB (Zentraler Omnibusbahnhof) in Schleswig is the central bus station serving the city. It provides a hub for regional and long-distance bus services, connecting Schleswig with other towns and cities in the region and beyond.

The ZOB typically offers amenities such as ticket counters, waiting areas, restrooms, and sometimes shops or cafes. It plays a vital role in the local transportation network, facilitating travel for residents and visitors alike.

The updated spatial program for this area now incorporates office space for the Schleswig City Hall, a large parking facility accommodating 789 cars, and a sizable retail space for a full-range retailer. This complements the existing function of the central bus station (ZOB).

Schleswig is a city in northern Germany, located in the state of Schleswig-Holstein. It has a rich history dating back to the Viking Age and has been influenced by Danish and German cultures over the centuries.

Schleswig is known for its picturesque old town, historic buildings such as the Schleswig Cathedral, and its location on the Schlei fjordthe Schlei fjord. The city also hosts cultural events and festivals, and its museums showcase its diverse heritage.

The design draws inspiration from the fluid motion of buses connecting various regions, reflected in its curvy, dynamic, and modern lines.

The primary structure is oval-shaped and positioned at the corner. Its ground floor houses a spacious supermarket with double-height ceilings, featuring an innovative delivery system. On the first floor above the supermarket, offices are situated along the outer perimeter of the oval, forming an inner oval-shaped courtyard. A green rooftop serving as a relaxation space for the City Hall staff.

In the central area of the property, the parking structure stands in a dynamic, infinity-shaped design. Beneath it, you'll find the bus stops and platforms beside F&B options.
Drivers heading to the parking area will encounter one-way streets, ensuring continuous and straightforward movement. There is a single entrance and exit for vehicles, simplifying access and egress.

In conclusion, the design for Schleswig, ZOB and City-Hall, stands as a modern, organic, and fluid interpretation amidst a backdrop of historical buildings spanning centuries, alongside structures from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. It symbolizes a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, marking a bold step towards the future while honoring the city's rich heritage.
